Candy Canes

Candy Canes

Every Christmas season, candy canes appear in our house. Our children come home with them from church, school, and their grandparent’s homes and then beg to eat one every day. We oblige some of the time, but I don’t give a second thought to candy canes with all of the other goodies we have around at Christmastime, even though they are one of the four main food groups (for elves). Name that movie.

{Two}

Last month our baby turned two…which means he is officially no longer a baby. But he’ll always be our baby, right? Our sweet third baby who’s life is not as well documented as his older siblings. Since this blog is translated loosely to photo books, I’ll get it down here while I still remember the details.

Yellow

When I was a kid, if you were to ask me what my favorite color was, I assure you that yellow probably would have been toward the bottom of the list. Enter the year 2010 and my sister asked me to wear a yellow dress in her wedding. I told her that I do not look good in yellow, (the one yellow top I have ever owned made my teeth look yellow-er. Gross.) but I would absolutely wear whatever she wanted. This was just the push I needed to get on the yellow bandwagon.

The Cake

When I asked our sweet girl what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday, she replied, “A pink princess cake!” (Well, she says “pruncess” instead of princess, but I don’t correct her). Out of Focus

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6,7

It’s raining. IT’S. RAINING! If I could get up on top of the house, I might shout it from the rooftops just in case the neighbors haven’t noticed. But there’s thunder and lightening and there are plenty of other reasons why they might already think we’re a little crazy. But that’s another story for another time.

This summer was blazing hot and dry and there are likely people who had never prayed a day in their life who suddenly started praying for rain. Not only was the weather brutal over the last few months, but there were some other tough circumstances in our lives.

Hi! Hello! Howdy! Hola!

Hi! Hello! Howdy! Hola!

Didya’ miss me? I haven’t forgotten about this old blog. Several people have very kindly reminded me that I should update over here already, so I’ll do my best to catch you up. In short, this transition business is not for the faint of heart. We’ve been busy! Duh. Who’s not these days? And we have little to prove it (besides bags under our eyes and a shiny new website). Our camera is collecting dust, but I did manage to snap a few pictures on my iPod this summer so you can see some of the fun we’ve had in the last few months:
