Paris…Texas, that is.

Friday, March 30th, 2007

It’s Joe’s hometown. You might be interested to know that there is a small Eiffel Tower there. We didn’t take a picture of it, though. Sorry to disappoint you. Because we were gone for just over a month, I’ll do an update in installments. Here’s part one (actually part two since the only update I did on the road was from Paris). But, I digress. Back to the issue at hand.

We started our trip with Joe’s family in Paris (northeast TX). We spent most of our days outside, and we took a ridiculous amount of photos, so I’ll include some random photos this time and some yet to be disclosed (secret) photos next time. If you’re tired of seeing pictures of Evan, read no further. He is who the grandparents really want to see, right?

Here’s the little guy playing in the dirt. (Yes, he needed a bath every day).evansand.jpg

He played with little wheelbarrows…

And BIG wheelbarrows:

We had a great time playing outside, but there were plenty of good times inside, too. Joe’s mom spoiled us with her great cooking. She makes the BEST cherry pie:

Hanging out with Joe’s family was a great way to start our trip. Until next time, Paris. It was fun!

This Boy…

…had his 2nd birthday on March 15th. He had lots of celebrations during our trip and was showered with lots of love and presents. Needless to say, he becomes very obedient at the mention of “cake,” and he can open gifts like a pro. I think he is beginning to think that he gets presents and cake every week! Thank you to everyone who made Evan’s birthday so special. What a blessing for him to be so loved!

We could not have known 2 years ago what joy Evan would bring to our lives or how he would add an entirely new dimension of love to our hearts. We did not know that we could love a child this much. He is one of the best gifts we’ve ever been given. And he’s pretty cute, too.

Check back soon for pictures from Evan’s birthday parties and other fun times from Texas and Mississippi.

Also, I’ve posted some new pictures on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thomaslife/

How’s it goin’?

Hello! We’re still in Texas and having a blast. Joe and Evan both got sick, but I managed to use my “mommy immunity” to avoid their cooties. We have just one week left before we return to the “Great White North.” I will definitely be posting lots of pictures soon. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about our little spot here on the web. Stay tuned for a real update in the next week or so. Until then, you can be sure that I am wearing my flip flops with pride.
