Sneak Peek

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

I am finally getting around to looking through some of the photos that Joe took on his trip to the UK. I don’t know much about his trip, yet, but I do know that his time there was very beneficial.

Here’s a picture Joe took that looks just like I imagined:

It’s so green that I might even try to eat that grass. Okay, maybe not, but I wouldn’t mind breathing that air for awhile!

Food for Thought

I’d like to take a brief moment to gush about my sweet husband. He is always thoughtful, but this year he went all out for me on Mother’s Day. He doesn’t venture into the kitchen much (a few bad experiences, maybe), but when he does he really impresses me with his culinary skills! Here’s a glimpse:

Joe planned the full-meal deal! It didn’t last long:

And together we made Strawberry Lemon Shortcake…

…which also didn’t last long. It was all so good, and most importantly he and Evan made me feel so special and loved. It is easy for me to remember how blessed I am to be Joe’s wife and Evan’s mommy. Thanks, Joe, for a wonderful day!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Today, we celebrate our mothers, grandmothers, and all of the wonderful women God has put in our lives. We are so blessed. I just love being a mom, and I also love that there are women in our lives who love Evan almost as much as we do.

Here’s a quote that a friend sent to me. (Thanks, D)! I really appreciate what he says:

“ To be Queen Elizabeth within a definite area,
deciding sales, banquets, labors and holidays; to be
Whitely within a certain area, providing toys, boots,
cakes and books; to be Aristotle within a certain
	area, teaching morals, manners, theology, and hygiene;
I can understand how this might exhaust the mind but I
cannot imagine how it could narrow it. How can it be
a large career to tell other people’s children about
the Rule of Three, and a small career to tell one’s
own children about the universe? How can it be broad
to be the same thing to everyone and narrow to be
everything to someone? No, a woman’s function is
laborious, but because it is gigantic, not because it
	is minute.”
	What’s Wrong with the World
                G. K. Chesterton

We love you!

When tragedy strikes…

Did you hear about this?:

Here is a picture from the accident:

I just heard about this accident, and though tragedies happen all of the time, this one is especially heartbreaking because it involves children. All 3 of the children died in this accident. They were ages 3, 4, and 5. No parent ever imagines burying their child(ren). But death in this fallen world is certain. A big part of why we are working with GoodSeed is because we want people to know God’s promises to us NOW, in this life…before it’s too late. We know that there is only One in whom we can hope and trust to get us through trials, but many people don’t know Him.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’” John 14:6
