Hey, who turned out the lights?

December 21st, 2007 by Suzanne

Today is winter solstice - the longest day of the year…as in the shortest amount of daylight and the longest amount of, well, night light. For us in the great white north, that means that the sunrise was at 8:43 this morning, and sunset will be at approximately 4:30 pm. No wonder I feel so tired at night! By the time 8 pm rolls around, it feels more like 10 or 11 pm to me! I love the long summer days here, but I feel like I’ll never get used to such short days in the winter! Oh well - for now I have more time in the evenings to enjoy the Christmas tree lights!

At least you can try to convince Evan that bedtime is earlier. If it’s dark by 5, he can go to bed and you can have a child-free conversation and still get to bed early.
That USED to work with my kids…

It’s great that you can see the brighter side of things…well in this case, I guess it would be the darker side.

    Hmm.
