Spring is here?
April 23rd, 2008 by SuzanneI love spring. The melting of snow. The warmth of the sun. The awakening of plants and trees from their dormancy. The grass turning green. The newness of life.
The thing is, we’re still waiting for those things here in the Great White North! I shouldn’t be surprised. The last week or so brought some snow. And winds. Together. I’m not sure how much snow we got, but enough for our car to get stuck in it. Twice. In two days. That is a first for us, after 2 winters here in Canada. And, I had to trudge through a foot or more of snow in our back yard to take this picture:
The plants are getting ready to look alive! I took this one from our front window on the first day of snow because it was too cold and crazy to go outside:
You may not be able to tell from the picture, but over a foot of snow built up on our railing. Funny, yes?
Spring will come. Or at least summer will come. In the meantime, we’re just trying to enjoy the pretty white stuff a little longer. And, we’ll be traveling around TX this spring, so I’ll get to wear my flip-flops soon enough!

I must confess…I am extremely jealous that you are heading south! Flip flops sound too good to be true. I guess I’ll just enjoy my hot tea and cocoa a little longer than I was expecting to
Who needs spring? I say we just skip to summer! ~Les

So strange to have to wear a coat to the airport then arrive to 70 degrees! I love snow though, so I can’t say I’d be hating your life right now. Haha. Snow over sweat anyday!

Ditto to Doody’s comment.
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow. You’re only a day away!!

Aw wow, well I’m sure you were quite tired of the snow and ready to come to TX! I’d have loved to have gotten some real snow this winter though. Guess we’ll just have to go visit you sometime!

How fun that you are in town!!! Lonnie has been in New Jersey for coming up on two weeks…he gets home Thursday late. Before leaving he and I made arrangements for me to have plans with family and friends most mornings and afternoons so the time would pass quickly. I have received your messages and wanted to call you back but don’t have a number for you. Will you still be here on Friday morning!??! Belle has preschool on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and we have afternoon plans both those days. Wednesday we’re going to meet my sisters April & Ali and their kids for the day. It would be real fun to see You, Evan and sweet Maren! I hope you get this email and that you’ll be here still on Friday! If not, for sure if you pass by again it’d be fun to see you…June is a little busy for us, we’re going to do a mini-vacation just us, Lon’s parents will visit, and Lon’s family from Germany will be coming for an extensive visit (they are devout atheist so you can pray for that time). Hope to see you soon!
