Recap

July 13th, 2008 by Suzanne

I don’t intend to belabor the point that it was my birthday (really, I don’t, although I’m all for a birthday WEEK! I mean, really, it only happens once a year). I DO intend to brag on my husband for just a moment. He went all out to make my birthday extra special. Not only did he encourage me with cards and sweet words throughout the day, but he got up early to make muffins for breakfast, and then spent part of his afternoon preparing a deluxe birthday dinner. He made steak fajitas that were so good:

And cheesecake for dessert. Homemade. From scratch. By himself. I’ve made a lot of desserts in my day, but I’ve never attempted cheesecake! I feel like I know Joe pretty well after nearly 8 years of marriage, but he continues to surprise me when he decides to venture into the kitchen.

I was so impressed! (That’s white chocolate sprinkled on top). Don’t you want some?! I sure couldn’t wait to cut into it, especially since everything is fat free on your birthday, right?!

Thanks, Joe, for making me feel so special and loved every day, not just on my birthday. I thank God continually for blessing me beyond measure. For your thoughtfulness, Joe, and for your kind birthday wishes, friends, I thank you!

Wow, Joseph, I am extremely impressed and so proud of you to see that you are treating your sweetheart so lovingly. The fajitas and cheesecake look absolutely amazing. Wonder if you would indulge your mama in cheesecake-making lessons when we come next time? Or when you come here? Mine don’t turn out quite that pretty at all!
We love you all so much, and Suzanne, may God just continue to bless and strengthen you each day as you raise Evan and Maren, give you wisdom and joy as you walk every day with him. We are so blessed to have YOU in our family.
