{Two}

Jan 23

Last month our baby turned two…which means he is officially no longer a baby. But he’ll always be our baby, right? Our sweet third baby who’s life is not as well documented as his older siblings. Since this blog is translated loosely to photo books, I’ll get it down here while I still remember the details.

Dear Little E,

At two, you are as cute as they come with those big blue eyes, which makes your strong-willed side a little easier to deal with. And when I say strong-willed side, I mean that your favorite words are “NO!” topped off with a resounding “I don’t want to.” You have spent a lot of extra time in your bed as a result of those words, but you will almost always come around with a sheepish “yes, ma’am” or “yes sir.”

You have a super sweet side, too, and you are easy-going and happy most of the time. We laugh daily at the silly things you say and repeat, and you do repeat EVERYTHING. One of our favorites is when we told you that you are such a copy-cat, to which you replied, “Meeeeoowwww.”

Your joy is contagious as we often see you running around laughing and squealing and making hilarious faces. And your singing (at the top of your lungs) makes us giggle daily. Your favorite songs are Kumbaya and “Jangle” Bells. Random. You would think that we have a campfire and that every day is Christmas around here with those songs. I’m willing to pretend it’s Christmas every day just to hear you say, “Merry Crumpsmas!”

You started saying the prayer at meals a few months ago. Oftentimes, when we say, “Let’s pray,” you will immediately begin, “Got (God)” and then start your list of things you’re thanking Him for as you look around…oatmeal, table, outside, birds, etc. Even when one of us is praying, there you are repeating. I hope you’ll always remember to look around and thank God. We see His goodness when we look at you and thank Him for the honor of being your Mommy and “Da-yee.”

What joy you bring to our family, sweet boy. We love you with all we’ve got.
